Cinnamon Creme Brulee Pancakes with Vanilla Glaze
Some weekends, I crave a crazy amount of sugar. We have a go to brunch place we love for crazy sugar pancakes (BeaBea's for those in LA), but if you can't get to BeaBea's, here's a cinnamon treat that should probably only be eaten once in a blue moon. But when the time comes, savor the sugar goodness for the ultimate brunch treat.
Cinnamon Creme Brulee Pancakes with Vanilla Glaze
Ingredients
The base
- Your favorite basic pancake batter recipe & ingredients, mixed up and ready to go (here are regular and Gluten-free ones)
The swirly filling (per 8 medium sized pancakes)
- 2 tbsp of honey
- 1/4 cup of brown sugar
- 2 tbsp of butter
- 1 tea vanilla extract
The vanilla glaze
- 1/2 cup powdered sugar
- 1 tea vanilla extract
- 2 tbsp of milk
- 1 tbsp of butter
Directions
- Prepare your go-to basic pancake batter as normal.
- In a measuring cup, melt your butter for the swirly filling then add the remaining filling ingredients, stirring to incorporate.
- Heat your skillet and when ready, pour your batter out for your first pancake.
- Quickly, using a fork or a baster drizzle the swirly filling over the pancake batter.
- Flip your pancake and finish cooking. Repeat until all your pancakes are ready. The brown sugar will make the pancakes a bit crystalized and give them a fun texture alongside their traditional fluffiness.
- In another bowl or measuring cup, melt the butter for the glaze. Add remaining ingredients and stir until thoroughly incorporated. Add milk slowly (just a bit will do you) to create a thin glaze to pour over your hot pancakes.
Caution: this recipe is not on any diet, nor should it be. Probably eating a handful of gummi bears would be healthier but that said, enjoy the cinnamony goodness!
